For nearly a decade, Dr. Gloria Wade-Lessier has led Sisters Network Solano County, an African American breast cancer survivorship organization and affiliate of Sisters Network Inc.® In her role as president, Dr. Wade-Lessier works to improve breast cancer outcomes for women at the local and national levels by partnering with churches, educational institutions and dedicated professionals of the medical community, by improving community awareness and outreach.
Dr. Lessier focuses her energies in the areas of survivorship and support for breast cancer patients, breast health education, advocacy, and activities that help to reduce the risk factors associated with acquiring breast cancer. Annual National African American Breast Cancer Conference. By partnering with community organizations, community hospitals, educational outreach projects and institutions, organizational collaborations, corporate partnerships and private donations, she continues to reach out to women of all races and ethnicities.
Through her collaborative efforts with executives from a variety of fields, she works to help create solutions to problems impacting the community. Dr. Lessier has a long history in leading and contributing the community based on programs including leading educational programs and strategy teams in the East Bay.
Dr. Wade-Lessier was recently honored with the 34th annual Humanitarian Award, the National Council of Negro Women award for Notable Achievements and has received the Valerie Ashley Memorial Award for her efforts.
She is a member of the Community Advisory Board at Touro University and the Solano County Black Infant Health Community Advisory Board. In the coming year, she will extend her contributions to health and education by mentoring health students and promoting women's empowerment.
Dr. Wade-Lessier is also a certified Life Coach.
